The year 2020 was a bit dull for the gaming industry and since the pandemic struck, many games from our favorite franchises were delayed. But, 2021 will be one of the best years for the gaming industry because we’ll be getting all sorts of AAA titles this year. And with the release of next-gen consoles, the competition will be fierce and our expectations have never been higher.

Many games that were delayed in 2020 will also be dropping out this year and a handful of other exciting games will also be released this year and we’re eagerly waiting for them. But, not all of them would be able to make it to the top charts and that’s why we will be counting down our picks for the best upcoming games of 2021 that we’re really looking forward to.

Resident Evil Village

  • Release Date – May 7, 2021
  • Developer – Capcom
  • Genre – Adventure/Horror
  • Supported Platforms – PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows

The tall lady might be the new crush of many RE-fanatics but Capcom promises horrifying gameplay that will make you reach for the sheets. Following the adventures of Ethan Winters, Resident Evil Village will feature all sorts of creatures and half-humans ready to creep all over you and get a taste of your flesh.

Capcom announced that Resident Evil Village will feature Ethan Winters as the main protagonist in the game and he’s back one last time to find his missing daughter who is supposedly captured by Lady Dimitrescu.

Far Cry 6

  • Release Date – May 25, 2021
  • Developer – Ubisoft
  • Genre – Adventure/Open-World
  • Supported Platforms – PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, and Microsoft Windows

Will Vaas make his comeback in Far Cry 6? The debate has been going for a while but thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer because Far Cry 6 will be released later this year. Developed by Ubisoft Toronto, Far Cry 6 features Antón Castillo as the main antagonist who is ruling over a fictional Caribbean Island for decades with an iron fist.

The storyline of Far Cry 6 is inspired by its predecessors where the free people revolted against the culprit leaders but things aren’t going to be the same when your opposition is Antón Castillo. Furthermore, we don’t know much about the main protagonist but, after taking a closer look at the trailer, we couldn’t be more excited about this one.

Halo Infinite

  • Release Date – Fall 2021
  • Developer – 343 Industries
  • Genre – Action/First-Person Shooter
  • Supported Platforms –  Xbox One, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

The Master Chief and his group of outcasts are making a comeback and this time, Halo Infinite features a much larger open-world map crawling with the goons from the rogue faction, The Banished. Halo Infinite will continue the story from the previous installment in the game but the developers at 343 Industries assured us that newly-added features and tech upgrades are likely to make the game more fun.

The release date of Halo Infinite is still unconfirmed but one thing that we’re certain of is that Halo Infinite will be released in 2021 and for Xbox gamers, it appears to be the most anticipated game of 2021.

With all these mouth-watering games coming out this year, it can be a difficult task to side with only a few of them. However, we feel that these titles would do really well this year, and considering the success of their predecessors, these are without any doubt, the best upcoming games of 2021 that you should look out for.
