This first-person shooter was really quite ahead of its time and offered us memorable gameplay that we’ll never forget.

Call of Duty 2 mimics the real events of World War II and the developers did a darn good job at crafting a masterpiece. Much like MOHAA, Call of Duty 2 features a lengthy campaign as well as a refined online multiplayer matchup that puts you against some of the finest Pros you’ll ever come across.

Although CS: GO doesn’t have a campaign like Medal of Honor: Allied Assault, the online community is rather welcoming and that team matches really makes your day. Moreover, compared to MOHAA, CS: GO is fast-paced and mainly features ‘plant the bomb’ or ‘defuse the bomb’ scenarios. 

With a huge number of players tuning in every day, CS: GO is one of the most played FPS of the modern era. It might not be able to entertain you with a lengthy campaign but, the multiplayer experience is quite unique and the competitiveness of the game will remind you of MOHAA. 

Battlefield 1

One of the finest first-person shooters we’ve come across in a long while, Battlefield 1 truly sets the bar very high with its one-of-a-kind offerings. From flawless cinematics to excellent gameplay backed by solid story-writing, Battlefield 1 really does offer an excellent narrative on the first World War. Each chapter of the game had its own moments and the connection we felt with the protagonists was real and there aren’t many games that could do that. 

Aside from a stunning and well-crafted campaign, Battlefield 1 also features a wide multiplayer mode where you could participate in a number of different battlefields. From FFA to team matches, Battlefield 1 would surely remind you of MOHAA.

Furthermore, the Battlefield 1 community is quite friendly and you’ll meet a lot of friendly people in the online lobby. One of the highlights of MOHAA was its great community with kind-hearted people and this is something that you’ll experience in Battlefield 1 as well. 

Metro Exodus 

Developer:  4AGAMES

Release Date:  February 15, 2019

While Metro Exodus belongs to a kind of a different genre, it deserves a spot here because of its gunplay and combat mechanics. Honestly, there aren’t many similarities between MOHAA and Metro Exodus but, the plot is enjoyable and the FPS experience is quite similar as it does involve weaponry from the good old days.

Traveling from one edge of the country to the other, Metro Exodus features a gripping story that creates a strong bond between the players and the protagonist. Moreover, In Metro Exodus, you can either go gun-blazing or be a bit sneaky, and strangely, it will remind you of MOHAA in more ways than you could expect. 

Unfortunately, Metro Exodus doesn’t feature a multiplayer mode but the campaign is quite lengthy. And if you decide to get your hands on this one, you’ll be occupied for a long while. Lastly, if you’re an FPS enthusiast, we highly recommended Metro Exodus. 

Arma 3 

Developer: Bohemia Interactive

Release Date: September 12, 2013

Arma 3 takes the competitiveness of regular FPS to the next level with its extremely realistic scenarios. At times, it’s hard to tell the gameplay apart from real-life because of its aesthetics. As a sandbox shooter title, Arma 3 puts you in the boots of the soldier and you have to use tactics and clear thinking if you’d like to keep the head on your shoulders because a single bullet would be the end of you.

Unlike MOHAA, Arma 3 doesn’t have a single-player campaign but since it is a sandbox title, you could choose the scenarios and act accordingly. Most of the time, you will be dependent on your large arsenal of weapons which includes everything from ARs to artillery shelling. From taking down the T-80 panzers to using CRAMs to defend the skies, Arma 3 really does take up the FPS experience a notch higher. 

If you’re a fan of first-person shooters and would like to try something more realistic, we highly recommend giving Arma 3 a shot. Moreover, Arma 3 is quite active and has a mature and friendly online community.
