Gaming is not cheap and after the price hike during the pandemic, buying a high-end PC is more expensive than a piece of gold bar. At the moment, building a new PC seems highly unlikely for those who struggle to make ends meet. In addition, with modern games requiring better specs, gamers with low-end PC often lack the knowledge of where to look for games that offer the best gaming experience and could run on their low-end rigs.

Even though most modern games require you to have high-end components working under the hood, there are still a few that would run well on a low-end PC and are truly spectacular.

We know you’re tired of playing the same old GTA and COD series on cheap, low-end PCs. To find the best games for a low-end PC in 2021, we looked for some of the most incomparable and rare games we could find.

Among Us

Over the years, we haven’t seen many indie games doing well in the gaming industry where the big giants are ruling at the top of the hill. But, Among Us, developed by a few guys in a cubicle made the headlines and all for the right reasons. Age of Empire 2

Many strategy games came and went but none of them could offer what Age of Empire 2 has to offer. Released almost 21 years ago, Age of Empire 2 is still going strong with thousands of players tuning in to play its fierce campaign that is more fun each time you play it.

People often think that AE2 is a quite simple game that only requires you to raise armies and build defenses but, little do they know that once you change the difficulty from standard to moderate, all hell will be bestowed upon you and you’ll have to come up with a proper strategy if you aim to survive against the vicious armies and their siege machines.

The standard version of AE2 is quite outdated but recently, the Definitive Edition and HD edition of the game was released and they are a sight to look at. Exceptional graphics and refined gameplay. You’ll definitely enjoy the HD edition because it can run on low-end PCs. However, the definitive edition requires you to have a powerful PC and for those with potato PCs, stick with the HD edition and you’ll have the time of your life.

Need for Speed Most Wanted (2012)

In the previous decade, driving games evolved tremendously and we had a great time playing them. Especially the ones from the NFS franchise including Payback, Heat, and The Run but, Need for Speed Most Wanted (2012) will always hold a special place in our hearts.

With stunning graphics, exceptional gameplay, and fierce races, NFS MW had everything an enthusiast could ask for. Since the day it was released, it blew the gamers away with what the game had to offer and to this day, NFS MW is very much alive and gamers have spent hundreds of hours in this one.

If you own a low-end PC and are looking for exceptional games that will make your money worth it, then we highly recommend taking a closer look at Need for Speed Most Wanted. The system requirements to smoothly run this game are quite ordinary and you won’t need to have anything special installed inside the hood to enjoy this one.

System Requirements:

  • CPU – Core 2 Duo/Core 2 Quad
  • RAM – 2GB
  • OS – Windows Vista and Windows 7
  • GPU – DirectX 9 Supported

Hitman Series (2000-06)

The Hitman franchise laid the foundation of the stealth game and if we were to suggest the best stealth game franchise, we wouldn’t go past the excellent Hitman franchise. Since the early 2000s, the Hitman franchise has had excellent installments and enjoyed infiltrating into enemy bases in disguises and eliminating high-value targets.

With a silencer-equipped gun in hand and Diana whispering the layouts in his ear, playing stealth games was never this much fun. And although most of us went with the ‘go big or go home’ strategy and went in gun blazing in a stealth environment, we thoroughly enjoyed every second of it.

The first four installments in the Hitman franchise, released between 2000-2006, can flawlessly run on any low-end PC. If you’re on a quest to find the best low-end games for your PC then we highly recommend playing the Hitman franchise and enjoy the adventures of Agent 47.
