Over the years, we’ve had a fair share of intense fights, whether it was against a marching band of minions or a witch residing at the top of the hill. Fighting the bosses in action games is one of the highlights of our run but, beating these bosses is not always the most soothing experience. Oftentimes, the AI is too powerful for us and it takes hundreds of tries to take those bosses down.

But which boss was the most difficult to fight? We asked the gamers the same question and found many bosses that were too difficult to fight. And in today’s round-up, we’ll be counting down the most difficult game bosses of all time.

Most Difficult Games Bosses of All Time: Our Picks

Sigurn – God of War

God of War is without a doubt, one of the most intense games you’ll come across. The fights with giants feel overwhelming and when you’re mature enough to challenge the corrupted Valkyries, this is where the game will test your strength, strategy, and most importantly, your patience.

And once you’ve defeated all the Valkyries in God of War, you’ll have to go toe-to-toe with Sigurn, the queen of Valkyries. She’s extremely hard to beat and unless you’ve decided to put in a couple of hundreds of hours into the game to get the stats to the max, you’ll have an extremely hard time taking her down.

Vicar Amelia – Bloodborne

In Bloodborne, you have to fight all sorts of beasts. Some were easy to take down while others required a bit more effort and the right timing. But, Vicar Amelia, one of the bosses you have to face in Bloodborne is a hard nut to crack. And with her healing ability and formidable stature, she’s exceptionally hard to beat.

The key to beating her lies in patience and properly timing your shots. But when she’s flying with her giant wings and laying down some serious damage, it’s a bit hard to stick to your strategies. However, with enough tries and powerful yielded weapons, you might be able to land a killing blow at her.

The Devil – Cuphead

A little pup barging in with a bubble shooter taking down the most notorious villains of all time, the devil seems pretty straightforward. But with ballons poping in, the devil trying to muscle you, and monkeys coming in to grab a piece of you, the fight gets intense, and beating the devil gets extremely challenging.

And even though if you’ve managed to make the devil crawl out of his skin, phase two of the boss fight gets even more intense. Players have to keep fighting while keeping their movement in check and also be on the lookout for more enemies that might be crawling out of any dark places. The Devil in Cuphead, is without a doubt, one of the most difficult bosses of all time.

The Nameless King – Dark Souls 3

It is already considered tough to beat the Dark Souls franchise due to its challenging nature. In Dark Souls 3, you’ll experience challenging gameplay, whether you’re squaring off against a single minion or a dragon. The Nameless King, a notorious boss in Dark Souls 3 is incredibly difficult to defeat.

This boss fight is intense because you have to fight on two different fronts. First, you have to counter the attacks by The Nameless King and then also protect yourself from the fire-breathing dragon. And because the boss has quite a few unique moves in his arsenal, the fight gets quite intense and unless you’re extremely good at Dark Souls, you’ll be wanting a few tries before you can take down this might boss and his dragon.

Skolas – Destiny

All the might weapons in your arsenal and you might still not be able to take down Skolas in the first instalment of Destiny. While Destiny does offer challenging gameplay and makes you rage quit but Skolas is a different breed of monster that’ll rip you a new one. And its minions that do make quite a shocking entry and get you every time with their sticky shots don’t leave you much of a chance.

Skolas is hard to beat and there’s no denying that. In fact, it is one of the most difficult bosses that you’ll ever come across. But with enough practice and an arsenal filled with devastating weapons, you might have a chance.

Goro – Mortal Kombat

While every fight in Mortal Kombat is difficult and poses a great challenge, it’s a completely different ball game when you’re against the likes of Goro. A legendary beast with 4 arms that are trained to squash you like a mosquito. Without a single doubt, Goro is hard to beat and even if you’re a skilled gamer, we bet it’ll take quite a few tries because you could conquer this beat.

Goro is one of the most powerful creatures in the world of Mortal Kombat, and he’s never been underestimated. Having a rich history, Goro is a fan favourite despite being one of the toughest bosses in Mortal Combat. In case you were particularly fond of your skills, having a go at Goro would be a great way to test your skills.

Alma — Ninja Gaiden

Last but not the least, Alma from Ninja Gaiden is truly a challenge, and even with four chances, slaying her down is extremely difficult. She possesses a flying ability which makes her extremely powerful and with not much vulnerability. However, similar to many bosses, she sticks to a pattern that can be studied and perfect timing is required to take her down.

But, a single blow from her can take most of your health bar, and even with 4 backup lives, beating Alma isn’t a cup of tea. Gamers have to be patient and be extremely vigilant when they’re going toe-to-toe with her. Nevertheless, with enough patience and practice, she can be taken down once and for all.

That’s all folks!
