Resident Evil 2 Remake

A blast from the past, Capcom scared the life out of us with their horrifying remake of Resident Evil 2. From flesh-eating zombies to the most terrifying creatures of the mysterious hidden world, the game has it all.

When discussing the topic of zombie survival games, the Resident Evil franchise will always take center stage since it is among the most played survival games of our time. The game has truly earned its accolades from people around the world.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is more challenging than other installments, as the zombies found in the game are strong and will survive a few punches to the head. To take them down for good, you’ll need the whole magazine to finish them off. And it may become even more daunting when you’re only armed with limited ammunition.

Overall, Resident Evil 2 Remake is an excellent game and if you are a Zombie-fanatic, you ought to play this game and find out the truth of the definition of a hard-core zombie survival title.

Released back in 2013, DayZ continues to be one of the most popular zombie survival games out there with dozens of players worldwide turning to this game when they want to take care of a few zombies.

Even with its various bugs and un-optimized elements, DayZ provides a captivating gameplay experience with a wide selection of assault rifles and melee weapons, which can be used to kill chunks of zombies.

The player can select between first-person and third-person viewpoints, based on what they prefer, and embark on an assault against the zombie outbreak with friends and teammates. DayZ keeps things fresh and interesting, so players never begin to get bored.

DayZ has a large map spread throughout a multitude of gigantic farms and villages infested with zombies and stocked with weapons and all sorts of supplies to survive. You will need to overcome the zombies in order to gain all the riches you need.

In spite of all the bugs and glitches, DayZ is still a worthwhile game to play and if you want to whack a zombie in the face then this game is right up your alley.

Dying Light

Do you want a zombie survival game that offers it all? Dying Light delivers.

A first-person perspective game, Dying Lights follows the tale of Kyle Crane whose tasks include bringing back stolen files to the GRE headquarters. However, the quest turns complex as hundreds of thousands of zombies wander through the town of Harren and its surrounding areas.

This is another survival game that sets itself apart, as it also requires you to be stealthy while wandering outside the safe zone, but if you choose to go gun-blazing, expect large numbers of zombies coming your way. Additionally, the storyline of the game is exceptionally well-written and keeps you interested until the final moments.

There are also some really great battle mechanics and cinematic cut scenes in Dying Light, such that it feels like a free-roaming zombie apocalypse where you can kill as many zombies as you want.

The Walking Dead

When discussing the horrendous trope that is the flesh-eating monster, we cannot fail to mention The Walking Dead franchise.

There’s no doubt that The Walking Dead by Telltale is the best zombie survival video game of them all. From the captivating plots to brutal zombies, The Walking Dead has everything you’re looking for in a zombie game.

Very much in the spirit of the original television series, The Walking Dead kicks off with captivating storylines that involve a number of main characters. Additionally, the claustrophobic décor gives you the hint that you are playing a survivor zombie game.

Several RPG elements, one of which includes a dialogue system that can influence the course of the game, play a vital role in its progression. Every decision you make in the game makes a difference.

Despite The Walking Dead’s zombie survival genre, the game’s graphics and overall gameplay are quite impressive, so you won’t regret spending your hard-earned money on it.

Days Gone

If you’re all about killing dozens of zombies with ARs then Days Gone is right up your alley.

With a huge amount of zombies to kill, Days Gone is hands-down the most entertaining and challenging zombie survival game you’ll ever play. The plot follows the story of Deacon, who is on a mission to find his missing wife during the pandemic that is turning humans into flesh-eating monsters.

This game gets rather intense by the end, with hoards of zombies taking a swing at you. It is not for the timid – it has been said again and again that it is not suitable for the faint-hearted. With that said, Days Gone offers a finely crafted environment with a beautiful visual representation of the zombie apocalyptic world and excellent combat mechanics to balance the game.

The PS4 exclusive Days Gone was developed by Bend Studios. Sadly, any other platform can’t play it. Although it is a wonderful zombie survival game, Days Gone will satiate any craving for zombie blood in you, no matter your age or gaming experience.

That’s all folks!
